Kurzbeschreibung
Social work and its organizations are not only affected by acute crises, but also by long-term mega-trends such as optimization, acceleration (Rosa 2012) and economization (Bröckling 2016). The German psychosocial care system has changed profoundly in the past ten years due to new socio-political requirements especially regarding cost efficiency. But how exactly do macro mega-trends affect structural change at the meso and micro levels of social work (for example documentation, output orientation, schematization etc.) have only received little academic attention so far (Beckmann 2018). Therefore, we focus on empirically anchored multi-level analysis with a view on the importance of actions, behaviour and practices – considering both unconscious and institutional processes and their relevance for professional work in organisations (Mentzos 1988). The overarching goal of the institute is to develop a coherent approach to capture the fundamental dynamics of social work as it unfolds between society, organization, professional behaviour and unconscious processes.
